Case Study 1: Net Zero Carbon Study

Before founding Measured, one of our team played a key role in supporting a major residential developer to meet net zero carbon targets across three large-scale London developments. The scope involved assessing a range of heating strategies, considering both upfront capital expenditure and long-term performance.
They developed a cost model for eight alternative heating solutions and supported the delivery of a whole-life cost analysis to provide the client with clear visibility of the financial and sustainability implications of each option.
This work culminated in the adoption of a fully electric heating system using air source heat pumps, supported by PV panels, for an 800-unit development. This solution balanced carbon reduction goals with long-term cost efficiency, considering both capital and operational expenditures.

One of our founders supported a leading data center client in meeting their corporate target of achieving LEED Silver certification across multiple developments in North America and Canada. With each project located in a different state, the available sustainability options varied significantly.
The role involved building appropriate allowances into feasibility cost models to ensure sustainability measures were properly funded, alongside providing detailed cost analyses to evaluate alternative construction methods and components.
Through this approach, the client continues to successfully their sustainability targets, demonstrating both environmental responsibility and commercial efficiency.

Case Study 3: Net Zero Carbon Study

Our founding team’s experience also includes advising a pharmaceutical client on decarbonising three existing facilities in California, New Jersey, and Missouri. The client sought to replace fossil fuel–based mechanical systems with fully electric alternatives supported by PV panels.
The scope included delivering a full retrofit cost analysis for new building systems, alongside evaluating additional sustainability measures. Recommendations included replacing outdated lighting schemes with more efficient fixtures and exploring façade strategies to improve overall building performance.
This work provided the client with clear cost visibility and practical options to reduce emissions, modernise facilities, and strengthen their long-term sustainability profile.
